SwimTopia - Important things to know
The Website is used to register your children for the team and mostly to inform parents about our team, our meets, our policies and news. Kinda like a team handbook. Sign up for meets and job can happen on the website too.
The App is used to get meet details, notification/alerts from coaches and admin, meet and job signups, athlete's times, athlete's meet history etc. The free version is sufficient, paying for the Pro version is not required. The Pro version will give you meet information like heat and lane assignments, plus the times, scores, and results more quickly. For more information visit the SwimTopia help pages
Meets
Every parent MUST sign kids up for meets - whether going or not Meet Attendance - Stonecrest Stingrays
The day before a meet we will email parents when the lineup is done. Use the app to review your child’s events. Plus, the email will include any meet updates and the warm-up/arrival times. Use this email to plan and follow the instructions we provide.
New parents - if you have not already done so, read the Parent section of our website Parents - Stonecrest Stingrays. It covers parent responsibilities, meet attendance, volunteer requirements, ribbons and exhibition heats.
Meet apparel - team swimsuit is not required. If you did not buy the team suit or it has not arrived, wear a tightfitting suit with no tie-strings, fringe or loose features. We prefer suits with team color, royal blue/yellow but not required. Team caps can be bought on our Team Store and handed out at practice. Other caps are allowed but must be solid color. No logo or pictures.
Volunteering
In SwimTopia, meet job signups are organized by a point system. This summer each family must sign-up for at least 9 points. Volunteer Jobs - Stonecrest Stingrays
There will be a few more opportunities to earn points volunteering at mini, silvers and champs and maybe food donations to the team party.
Do not NOT sign up! Contact us if you are having trouble, we'll find other ways you can help us.
If you work in the snack bar you can leave to see your kid swim. It’s not easy to hear announcements so get help from another parent or your kid to know when they’re up.
Finish judge is always overlooked; it does not require any training. You simply watch the end of the race and note on a paper the order the lanes finished. You get a great view of the pool and see all the action.
Team Photo Day
Next Friday, June 19 is photo day. An email will be sent with arrival times and order information. We take a team photo and optional, individual or sibling photos.
Team T-shirts will be given out at photo day. Athletes will wear the shirt in the team photo. For individual photos they can wear a team suit or t-shirt. Kids will bring home their team shirt and any your family bought. For those that miss photo day, shirts will be given out at practices.
