Stonecrest Stingrays is part of the 12-team ABE League. Swimmers and divers must be members of Stonecrest Swim Club.
Our team has three parts:
Swimming Team* - swimmers practice and compete in league meets
Diving Team - divers practice and compete in league meets
Little Rays - younger aged swimmers improve skills and do not compete in meets
*Swimmers are usually divided into smaller practice teams by age and abilities. Coaches will make adjustments as needed.
The Stonecrest Stingrays is a competitive summer league swimming and diving team located in Allentown’s West End. Our season lasts approximately 9 weeks, beginning the Tuesday after Memorial Day until the end of July. We swim 6-7 meets per season against other swim teams in the ABE League. At the end of the season, qualified swimmers and divers are invited to compete at ABE Championships (Sliver Champs, Diving Champs, and Swim Champs).
About Little Rays
This group is for younger swimmers
to improve their swimming skills and learn strokes before joining the
swim team. They practice as a group separate from the swim and dive
teams. The coaches work with the swimmers inside the pool practicing
swim safety, building confidence, and
having fun while they learn.
Little
Rays do not compete in meets.
Is your child ready for the swim team?
We do not have a minimum age requirement to join the swim team. If your child can swim one length of the pool without assistance, they are eligible for the swim team. If your child is comfortable in the pool and can swim the width of the pool, they are eligible for Little Rays. Coaches will assess younger swimmers. Once a Little Ray improves, coaches will move them to the team.
